Homeless Won't Be Evicted, Padilla Says
Thursday, 27 December 2007

ImageSACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Evictions are on hold for a group of homeless people camping in a Natomas neighborhood.

Last month, they were forced off the grounds at the old railyard downtown.

The group had been living on an undeveloped Natomas-area parcel since November, when Union Pacific closed off some of their land near downtown -- called "tent city" -- which had been a frequent location for homeless camps.
